Eat right
*Reserve heavy meals and sweets for special occasions and stick to healthy foods.
*Use your plate as a guide:
**One-half should be fruits and vegetables. Frozen is as nutritious as fresh.
**One-quarter should be whole grains or healthy carbohydrates. (Brown rice, whole-wheat bread, sweet potatoes, oats.)
**One-quarter should be lean protein: beans, chicken, turkey, tofu, or fish. - Aim for 30 minutes of gentle exercise each day: walking is fine.
- During the COVID-19 pandemic, wear a mask if you will be within six feet of other people.
- Do not smoke.
- Do not use drugs.
- Take care of your mental health.
- Sleep at least eight hours and go to bed early if possible; sleep is important to maintaining good health.
- Visit your doctor to learn more about your overall health.
