Eat right *Reserve heavy meals and sweets for special occasions and stick to healthy foods. *Use your plate as a guide: **One-half should be fruits and vegetables. Frozen is as nutritious as fresh. **One-quarter should be whole grains or healthy carbohydrates. (Brown rice, whole-wheat bread, sweet potatoes, oats.) **One-quarter should be lean protein: beans, chicken, turkey, tofu, or fish.
Aim for 30 minutes of gentle exercise each day: walking is fine.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, wear a mask if you will be within six feet of other people.
Do not smoke.
Do not use drugs.
Take care of your mental health.
Sleep at least eight hours and go to bed early if possible; sleep is important to maintaining good health.
